I have worked extensively in 2D animation and 3D modeling, often doing outsourced professional work—sometimes as a kind of clandestine “maquila”—for both small and large companies. I only keep the base files of my work, and I am not at all interested in re-rendering it to show here (some of the contracts didn’t even allow me to do so). Therefore, I am only displaying a few of my more outlandish personal experiments here.
Formally and technically, these pieces were created as expressionist animations, limited to online interactive playback at 12 frames per second. However, for commissions, yes—I can also work at 25 frames per second, using techniques such as rotoscoping, hand drawing, or even Disney-style animation.

An old bilingual and educational project (originally interactive), presented as a series of micro-animations. Looking for a production company… (Click on the thumbnails to view full-size images and videos.)

Old experiments with software that no longer exists. Here are a couple of videos, originally interactive, made entirely with Macromedia Flash. Listen with headphones: my friend in Seattle, the extraordinary composer Steve Layton, composed the wonderful music especially for this occasion.
